Our Mission
SoCal Squash aims to create a vibrant squash community of players, coaches and clubs and to promote, develop, and increase participation in the sport of Squash at all levels in and around Southern California. Our vision is to create lifelong enjoyment for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds in the game of Squash in the SoCal District.
About Us
SoCal Squash is the official governing body for the game of squash in Southern California. We cover the area from San Luis Obispo south through San Diego, including: Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Pasadena and Orange County. We are the district affiliate of US Squash, the national governing body of the sport. We are an independent 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting the game of squash throughout Southern California by:
Connecting — We connect players, professionals, clubs, and enthusiasts by providing communication across the district about events, coaching resources and facilities in order to increase awareness of local and regional opportunities for social play, tournaments, and junior development programs.
Developing — We develop junior and adult clinics, high school and adult leagues and singles/doubles teams. We promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols, instill a safe, supportive, and inclusive play environment and contribute to the construction of squash courts and related facilities. All while celebrating the expansion of the player community, particularly amongst our youth, extending the circle of those who know and love the sport.
Supporting — We support teams, leagues, and clubs by: facilitating hosted tournaments, exhibitions, and clinics helping attract best-in-class coaching talent and training resources to Southern California. We keep a calendar of events on behalf of all clubs across SoCal and communicate via our newsletter on behalf of the squash community.
Our Values
At SoCal Squash, we are committed to upholding the values of US Squash: excellence, diversity, and sportsmanship. For us, sportsmanship means consistently demonstrating fair play by adhering to the rules of the game, showing respect for opponents and officials, and maintaining a positive attitude whether in victory or defeat. From the youngest competitors and those just learning the game to the many who have enjoyed the sport for decades, all players are linked by the sport's core values of integrity, honesty, courtesy, and respect—and most importantly, having fun!

Junior Board Mission
The SoCal Squash Board recognizes the importance of selecting, mentoring, and providing high school athletes with opportunities to develop leadership skills and contribute to SoCal Squash. We believe that robust participation by junior players is vital to the growth of squash in Southern California. To that end, the Junior Board consists of 8 invited players representing each region of the SoCal Squash District: Santa Barbara (2), Los Angeles (2), Orange County (2), and San Diego (2).
The leadership structure of the Junior Board is led by a designated member of the SoCal Squash Board. They meet every other month (6 times/year) with the Board Lead to review progress on communications, Junior League, PLayLA, and other initiatives. The Junior Board are non-voting and serve a 12-month term beginning April 15th of each year. That being said, outstanding members may be invited back for a second term!
Junior Representatives actively support SoCal Squash by :
Assisting the Communications Committee with the monthly newsletter and social media posts
Recruiting players and participating in league matches through the SoCal Squash Junior League
Volunteering as assistant coaches to introduce squash to new players with PlayLA
